Whole Lotta Love

For most holidays, I go a little overboard – this is not news to anyone who knows me. I like to change it up a little every year while incorporating my personal collection of holiday decor. This year's Valentine's display was no exception.

The main event was the living room display consisting of seven strands of paper hearts, each made from eight strips of paper folded, stapled and stacked into one another, suspended on fishing wire alongside some tiny disco balls to make things sparkle.

The doorway garland is the piece I'm most proud of from a design standpoint. I designed and cut interlocking heart shapes using my precision cutting machine that loop into each other with no adhesive needed – they separate completely for storage and go back together just as easily. Satisfying to assemble and satisfying to take down, which is not something I can say about most of my holiday decorating projects.

The chandelier, bookcases, buffet and every surface in-between got some love, with a balance of vintage-style and modern decor woven throughout.

The video below takes you through the whole thing – gimbal in hand, heart on sleeve.
